Workchic Fitting Room Series: Are you an Inverted Triangle?
So what’s an inverted triangle? How can you tell if you fall into that category? Well your bust and shoulder measurements are more than 5 percent larger than your hip measurement. So the key to adjusting to this fashion dilemma is to fill out your lower half to balance your upper half.
Here are some of our suggestions to look out for on your next shopping trip!
1. Tops that have some flare around the hip area will visually give an hourglass illusion.
2. U-neck or scoopneck blouses/tops focus on the center of the body rather than a V-Nneck that focus on the bust area.
3. Tulip skirts will give a narrow waist or hips instant curves.
4. Front pockets whether on shorts, skirts, or pants will give the illusion of wider hips.
5. Pleats are your friend! Take advantage since not everyone can wear pleats!
6. Adding volume (i.e. ruffles) on the bottom of your dress or skirt balances out your upper half.
7. Wearing bright colors on your bottom half will also give the illusion of balancing out both your upper and lower half.
Here are some items that follow the rules above:
Haute Hippie Scoop Neck Dress -$241.50
MLH Rose Empire Rib Top-$67.50
Printed tulip skirt in Black-$69.00
Elizabeth and James Daffodil Skirt-$245.00

I’ve always had big boobs and chunky arms for my frame, My boobs are the same if not larger than my hips and make my arms look fatter which make my shoulders appear broader :/

I’m still trying to figure out if I’m an Inverted Triangle. Signs are pointing to no…I think I’m just petite; I’m pretty much in proportion physically. Great tips!
