Win a Scarf from Silk Road Spirit!

Our friends at Silk Road Spirit have generously donated this beautiful turquoise scarf for a contest on Workchic. To enter, leave a comment telling us how you would wear it to the office. One winner will be selected after February 17th.  To get your creative juices flowing, here are a few styling tips from the team at Silk Road Spirit.

We Got the Blues

1) Turn a plain square scarf in to a statement circle scarf by folding it and half and tying it around your neck. For a warmer look, twist the scarf in half around your neck. Silk Road’s cotton pom pom scarf does the trick when transitioning between seasons.

2) One of the hottest trends lately is a cowl neck scarf. Turn Silk Road’s open weave smocked scarf into a cowl neck by wrapping it around your neck and tucking the ends underneath in the back.

3) Take Silk Road’s deep pleats scarf from day to evening by wrapping it over your shoulders and tying it in the back. It’s the perfect look for a holiday party this winter. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.

What a gorgeous color!! I’d let the scarf take center stage, and wear it with black pants, a white shirt & my charcoal cardigan. That color does wonderful things for my complexion, so having it close to my face would make me feel beautiful all day.

I’d definately put this on top of a nice wrap dress and pumps or scandals (depending on the weather). I’d also be able to use this for night time too! Pair it with a nice leather jacket, jeans, and flats and I’m ready for a movie with the beau!

I love the exotic feel of this scarf! Since my office is “Business Casual,” I’d pair it with my deep blue skirt, a simple white top, and chunky silver accessories (to play up the exotic vibe). Then on the weekend, I’d use it as a wrap with a white top, white denim mini, and metallic flat sandals (I do live in Florida, after all).

For summer one of my favorite color combinations is turquoise, crisp white and chocolate brown. I have some nice brown pants that fit well, so I would start with those. They have a slight boot cut and they are hemmed to “flats” length. I confess to being old enough to have already had my go round with heels twice; 1980 a la Debby Harry and early 1990s when people still wore suits to work. Now, with a bad back and a five-year-old in tow, I don’t wear them often. So this outfit would be anchored with silver ballet flats. On top I’d add a cami with a brown and white graphic print, either a white denim jacket or a white fly away cardi and the beautiful turquoise scarf wrapped once around the neck with the ends hanging down. I’d top the look off with my vintage Navajo turquoise pieces, a chunky turquoise and silver ring and a silver cuff bracelet that has four chunks of turquoise going over the wrist.

I love your blog, keep up the good work.

I love to wear colorful scarves draped in half, then wrapped and tucked through the loop around my neck. Then I like to use other accessories to accent the scarf, such as my earrings or a layered shirt that complement the scarf color. Don’t want to look like I just kept my scarf on from the outside! :)

Ooooh…I like Shari’s idea! I love chocolate brown, too, so I’m definitely going to use that as inspiration in my future scarf stylings! Thanks, Shari!

  7. Amanda says

I would pair this scarf with a white cashmere sweater and black dress pants with my tory burch black leather and silver flats. I would also add silver ball earrings and my silver watch with maybe a silver and turquoise bracelet. Turquoise is this year’s color so I would love to have it spice up a work outfit!

  8. Alice says

There’s always a bit of neutral – blacks, browns, whites, and greys – composing my outfits, so this turquoise scarf (perhaps in the cowl neck fashion or even the open weave smocked) would add a much-needed burst of lovely color!
