Up until recently every morning I drink a cup of coffee. I cherish this time of the day to relax and center myself before diving into my daily workload. I have been drinking coffee for so long that I started to wonder what effects it has on my body as coffee is slightly acidic in nature. As of late, my husband & I have been drinking matcha green tea lattes in place of coffee in the morning – a superb alternative to coffee. We still enjoy coffee although now it’s only about a couple times a week. My green tea latte tastes just as delicious as Starbuck’s but alas is a more economical treat.
I use this particular organic matcha green tea powder for the green latte. First, whisk 1 tsp (or more) of matcha powder in a bit of hot water. Then heat a cup (or more) of coconut milk (or almond milk) in the microwave. Stir in some organic raw honey (love this honey) for a hint of sweetness. Froth the milk with this amazing little milk frother! Pour the milk into the matcha mixture. Stir. Devour! Oh, and you can grab that gorgeous mug here.
