I get an allergic reaction every time I wear makeup. The most noticeable change is my nasal passages as they start to get more runny once I put on makeup. My eyes get more sensitive as well. It’s subtle but it still requires me to carry small Kleenex to keep my nose dry (similar to my seasonal & air condition allergies). Recently I started using Almay’s hypoallergenic products to see if there was any improvement to my makeup sensitivity. Well, my allergic response was just slightly better. My eyes didn’t burn as much and my nose was not as stuffy, but the symptoms were still there. However, I was surprised with the quality of a couple of their items.
My favorites were the eyeshadow trio (more colors) and eyeliner (4 colors). They are both perfect for daily use with a good application and have staying power. The Smart Shade CC Cream (more shades) is decent overall except the thick texture that is more like a concealer than a tinted moisturizer. I prefer a light foundation. The brow pencil (brunette or dark blonde) has a smart angular tip to help you shape your eyebrows more precisely but it glides too easy for my liking (for those who want a soft brow pencil, this is the one for you).
Almay makeup is definitely worth a try if you have sensitive skin or have a makeup allergy like I do.
