Blazers are seen everywhere in the corporate world whereas most of us probably only own a couple of vests in our closets. With summer right around the corner, the best warm-weather alternative to blazers is surely the vest. We love the versatility of these unique toppers – the sleeveless style makes it a fantastic layering piece. One thing is clear, vests are simply and undeniably cool.
Our favorite vests of the moment are tuxedo vests that are gracefully chic whether dressed up or down, going from work to out. Like blazers, it’s worth splurging on high quality vests to wear time after time.
For a professional ensemble, you can wear a tailored vest over a long sleeved dress shirt. Get the suit look by pairing with matching trousers or with a pencil skirt worn with a short sleeved blouse.
Draped knit vests or zip vests are great with denim pants or over a dress as casual wear – nonchalantly cinch with a belt (especially the long style).
Vests made of airy fabrics like chiffon and silk are breezy in summer while leather and faux fur will keep you cozy in cooler months.
We rounded up some vests for you to enjoy this season. Make it all your own – you might just inspire others (or at least make their heads turn)!

Knit blazers are perfect for both casual or dressy attire. The knit material loosens up what is normally a formal piece. If you want to invest in a versatile, fashionable and as well as comfortable blazer – we suggest the Rag & Bone Bromely blazer, in navy, gray and white. We covet the sharp contrast piping and fitted style that won’t look like you stole your boyfriend’s. Retails for $415 – $495.
You can get the Mango knit blazer in a similar style for just $80! Available in navy & gray made of 100% cotton. From spring to fall, these blazers effortlessly coordinate with jeans, LBDs, and trousers alike.

Look chic at the office when worn with a pencil skirt and mid-heel pumps (50% off!). Keep it casual with jeans going out. And these studded pumps (sale!) will provide a nice edge to the outfit.

A classy statement jacket. Tuxedo style jackets or blazers were among the popular choices from the androgynous trends for the last few seasons. They were seen on runway shows and sported by celebrities and fashionistas. A good tailored topper is all it takes to make you feel instantly chic – tuxedo jackets are just that, even better in two-tones.

These soft tux jackets from Dorothy Perkins are no-brainers for incorporating into your workwear. We love the refreshing two-tone colors with a less formal vibe. The soft fabric – 100% polyester – allows for fluid movement that drapes the body beautifully. Just as fresh cinched with a skinny belt. Feeling comfortable and looking chic at the same time has never been easier. In ivory/black or navy/stone.

And, these elegant nude pumps are begging to be worn with the jacket.

While the Northern states are facing frigid weather, many of the western and southern states are having a mild winter. Trench coats are in that sense ideal year-round outerwear on rainy days and on those cool mornings & nights. They are ageless, timeless and a classic wardrobe piece that will always be in style.
One way to stay fashionable through this festive season (and beyond) is with a red trench coat! The color red only adds more posh to your already sophisticated styling. We adore the brick red hue on this Merona for Target trench coat called Scarlett Mystery. Think of it as a trench raincoat, its water repellent finish will keep you fashionably dry. Looking chic on a budget can’t be much easier.

Feeling a splurge? Check out this fabulous topper from one of the most recognized fashion brands in the world.

There is always room for a new blazer in my closet. Being highly versatile, blazers are easily the go-to topper anytime I want to pull an outfit together.
I came across this fabulous pink blazer a few days ago while browsing through the LC Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl’s. Don’t let the word pink fool you, the color is dark pink (more like a pink beige) which makes it quite wearable.
Its unique color and the chic styling instantly garnered my attention. And as soon as I tried on the blazer, I knew it wasn’t going back on the rack. Although the blazer is in boyfriend style, it doesn’t look at all like it came straight out of your boyfriend’s closet – not frumpy or boxy.
Another feature I love about this topper is the ruched sleeves that give it a rolled-up-sleeves look. Also, the sleek fitting reminds me of this particular blazer (with the exception of the sleeves) that I have been lusting after. So I was more than happy to have found this especially at the sale price of $49 $70, a fashion steal indeed.
Try to pair a pink blazer over a dress to the office or with a cozy scarf and sweater in cooler weather. Its timeless style will make rounds in your wardrobe for years to come.

You’ll liven up any black & neutral basic – black tee, pencil skirt, black booties by topping it off with a colorful blazer. A pink blazer like this one will give you a feminine yet sophisticated look.
