Designer Shawn Kearny described his Fall 09 Cynthia Steffe collection as “uptown chic meets downtown cool. Tough and chic at the same time.” He delivered exactly that with collection shown in mainly black and jewel tones but captured the unexpected with a hint of metallic shine. He also stayed true to the classics: little black dress, cropped pant, blazer and pencil skirt which reminds us to utilize what we have in our closet! Here are a few of our favorite looks from the show. All runway pics are courtesy of zimbio.com.
We love the use of the cropped leather jacket, belted and worn with a silk dress. What’s not to love about the deep teal ruched turtleneck? You can easily wear that with a black skirt or charcoal pants. The third outfit may not flatter every silhouette but it is a great concept of pairing a cropped jacket over skirt. The pop of burgundy in the shirt and gloves adds the perfect contrast to the outfit.
We found some of the same classic influences in the Spring 09 collection. The Black Cotton Blend Jacket,
Black & White Balloon Top, and White Stretch Cotton Pant, take the classic approach to your business casual wardrobe. You can mix and match these pieces to make multiple outfits without having to spend a fortune! All of the items below were found on shop.com.
